I have had a houseful of guests and will have more over the next days. I have more food than we will be able to consume over the next few days. I have a Christmas tree with too many presents underneath it (most purchased for my family from others). I have a healthy family. I have children in whom I take much delight. I have wonderful, loving parents. I have in-laws who, despite all odds, came here to celebrate Christmas with us and to watch the children in their Nativity play. My husband and I both have employment that provides what our family needs. I have a warm home that is in the perfect place to raise a family. I have a brother and sister-in-law and niece that make me glad to be part of the family I'm in. I am thankful for the MANY miles they traveled so that we could spend Christmas together. I have a brother in law, sister in law and nephew who I will not get to see this Christmas, but am happy to be a part of their family all the same. I have grandparents that love me and my children more than could ever be expressed in words. I have aunts and uncles and 2 cousins that are wonderful to me and to my family. I have friends that are just like family and family that are friends. I have friends and family all over…too many to name, but none forgotten. I have a husband that has seen me at my worst and loves me anyway. And...
And I have a God who chose to put on human flesh; who opted to have the King of Kings take His place in a dirty manger rather than a grand throne; who because of His great love for me came down from heaven and caused my soul to know it's worth. Indeed, I am rich! (and embarrassed for whining when we did not eat what I wanted for dinner!)
**Thanks for Que Sara Sara for reminding me of how rich I really am!
