As you can see we had LOTS of desserts. The food table was upstairs and the dessert was downstairs. I don’t have a picture of the real food, but you can imagine.
These are such sweet people. I just love them all.
The e young girl in this picture is the daughter of one of our regular attendees. She has just finished basic training for the National Guard and is headed for college next month. AMS and I taught her Math in the 6th grade. (stop laughing- I REALLY did teach math…well I tried anyway!) She has grown into a beautiful, successful young lady and it makes me proud!
Dave and Judy have their home beautifully decorated for Christmas. Dave read us the Christmas story from Luke chapter 2. What would Christmas be without that? Then he told us a story that his father used to tell him about an orange and a dime. HIs father is no longer living so besides this already being an emotional story, it is particularly emotional for Dave to tell it.
He and Judy had dimes and oranges (ok, so they were tangerines) for us all. I plan to share this story with my family this Christmas.
I am searching everywhere for the Internet copy of this story so that I can post it here. So far I have had no luck. I will keep looking and post it as soon as possible.
It was such a great night. I can’t wait t il next month’s celebration. Thanks Dave and Judy for all you do for us.
Todd- Dave and Judy have lived their adult lives mostly in Oregon and would like to live there again. Judy is a Canadian. Your kind of people, huh?!
