We are taking Jades' paci away slowly. She can only have it when in her bed now.
Yesterday was LOUD at our house because Jade was miserable. I wouldn’t even answer my phone because I knew no one wanted to hear all that screaming. I would just text people back and explain. Most people thanked me for not answering. Ha!
Background info: Jeff and I always have a stash of extra diapers, outfit, etc in our vehicles. They have proven handy more than once. When Jade used bottles, we also kept an empty bottle in the cars. (Ok, so I took Jade to Aunt Carol’s when she was 4 weeks old with no bottle and no milk- gimme a break!) Jeff recently took the bottle from his truck since it’s no longer needed. He ran it through the dishwasher and it has been on the counter for a few days since we don’t have a home for bottles anymore. (needed to take it upstairs) Frankly, I had no even noticed the bottle being out.
Back to Yesterday: Jade took my hand between tears and pulled me to the kitchen. She pointed to the counter and I lifted her up. She was pointing to the bottle. I saw no harm in letting her play with an old bottle, so I gave it to her.
This is what she did…
She created her own paci with an empty bottle. She outsmarted her mom on this one.
For the record: today has been much better. Let’s hope she sleeps and doesn’t keep us up from 1-3am again! Grr!
