Random

I recently learned to type my name in Braille. I only remember how to make the A, but I at least know the method now.

One day recently when I went to pick up Jade, the teacher asked if she could stay long enough to paint two pics for the board. I wasn’t expecting much, but I have to admit I was impressed with her skills.

On Monday, I was called to the office, and I found a pretty wrapped gift for me. Turns out one of my sweet Emmaus friends dropped off this cute cup for me. How sweet! I never do stuff like that for people. I just love it!

I need to purpose to do random acts of kindness.

Soccer Fall 2011

Jenna is playing Fall Ball at the rec department. Jeff is her coach. I REALLY wanted for 1) Jeff to take the season off, and 2) Jenna to have a coach other than Jeff. However, we made the mistake of showing up at evaluations, and Jeff was recruited (read forced) to coach.

So far, they are at a 1-2 for the season. This means that this team has lost more games in this season that Jeff has ever lost in ALL of his coaching seasons combined. Boo. This is the first year that they have played on the BIG field with BIG goals, and they play positions now. Lots of changes. We also got 1 less week of practice than the other teams since Jeff works out of town some. More Boo! That being said, we have tough players, and they are getting better and better.

I am looking forward to watching this team grow. We do have some great kids!

Phone Dump

Just a few pics left lying on my phone.

This is what Jade wore to Nonni’s this weekend. (Her “hot coat” and her pillow)

A few weeks ago, I gave Jade her Paci to play with. For 3 days, she would not put it in her mouth; she just played with her doll. Then, she decided she liked it again….uh oh! No worries, it was easy to take away.

Jeff and I before the first game of the season. I root for SC anytime they are not playing GA.

After Jenna and Kelsi’s romp in the creek, Jeff decided to clean out some of the brush. He isn’t near finished, but it sure is looking better.

and that’s all..

UGA v USC

You are guaranteed a good football game on the 2nd Saturday in September every year. UGA and Carolina ALWAYS play a hard game against each other. No matter the score, if you go and look at the stats, it’s ALWAYS a nail biter, close game.

This year was no different. Thanks to AC and UJ, we headed to Athens on Friday afternoon, and we enjoyed the visit until Sunday. We stayed in AC and UJ’s motorhome at Bulldog Park. Anthony and Ashley were also there  with us. So much fun!

I did not take my good camera, but I took a few on my phone.

(The pics are all out of order…My computer is acting cray-cray!)

Since it was September 11, BOTH bands took the field together, and did a very nice tribute. I was very impressed.

We had such a great time at the park. It is such a good group of people, and LOTS of food and fun.

Some of the girls went to downtown Athens to eat on Friday while I was eating lunchroom food. Shame on them! Ha!

Jeff and Anthony got in a little football time.

As it turned out, this was about as good as Georgia could do with chicken for the day. The gamecocks won, but it was a GOOD game!

Speaking of cooking chicken. These folks know how to cook! Friday night they cooked Filets and King crab legs. The crab was already split open so that all you had to do was eat- no work! I don’t know how may filets they cooked, but I bet it was 50 or more!

Saturday, they cooked 26 fried chicken halves, and 56 grilled chicken halves! I didn’t eat the chicken, but I did eat the fixens, and they were good!

The folks at the Snake Pit sure know how to cook. AC participated in some of the other infamous Snake Pit activities (4 times over!) I stayed away from that part.

We had a wonderful time, and we are so thankful to AC and UJ for sharing this weekend with us. I am sad to say that UGA lost, but my girls and Jeff are happy for another year- so all is well. I do love some good ol SEC football.

We are ready to go again!
