Shoeless Jade

If you read my Facebook post today, you already know this, but ….

It was not a smooth morning!

Jeff has been out of town for work and I was left to get the girls dressed and delivered to school this morning. He usually dresses Jade, Jenna dresses herself with my direction, I take Jade to school, and he takes Jenna.

I got Jenna up 5 minutes early because she needed to pick up some toys that she left out in Jade’s room. I guess Jade went in and “helped” her. I was getting dressed when Jade came into the bathroom already dressed in her jeans and socks. (Thanks Jenna!)

I went and put on her shirt and washed her face.

Shortly, we loaded the car and went on out way. As we were leaving the driveway, I questioned if we had everything.

bookbag? yep

lunches? yep

both kids? yep

clean cup for Jade? yep

jackets? yep

phone? yep

It seemed that we had everything….until I went to get Jade out of the car at daycare. When I went to get  her she only had on socks. She is famous for taking off her shoes and socks in the car, so I starting grumbling at her for taking them off. I looked at Jenna and asked, “You did put on her shoes?” She replied, “Uh, no. Thought you did, mom.”

Yep, Jade had NO shoes and I had no time to go back home. Thursday is my meeting day at school, so i couldn’t even come home during planning. She was stuck in socks all day!

I get the award for “Best Mom” today.

The good news is that Jeff pulled in the driveway as I’m typing this post. So glad he is home.
