Since yesterday was “Just Jade” today will be “Just Jenna”. I went on a field trip to Fernbank in Atlanta with Jenna’s gifted class today. They have been studying natural disasters and we went to an Imax and exhibit on such.
I have never been on ANY field trip with Jenna. True, I take my students a LOT of places including: Atlanta, Macon, NYC, Orlando, Charleston, UGA, Milledgeville, etc., but I have never been with my own child to even the pumpkin patch. Pathetic, I know. (Jeff and Nonni have been on a few with her. I think Justin went on 1 or 2 as well.)
The kids experimented with all sorts of fun tricks to do with natural disasters and the senses. They learned a lot and had a great time. They were so well behaved.
We saw a lot of Oregon sites in the Volcano exhibit. We thought of Uncle Todd, Aunt Caro, and Victoria.
One little girl asked me if I was Jenna’s sister. I can not believe that I did not get her picture! She is my new favorite kid. (outside of my own, of course)
It was such a nice trip. I enjoyed every part except the bus ride. Jenna was so thoughtful and told her teacher that I get bus sick, so I had a reserved seat in the front. I was impressed that Jenna remembered and was so considerate.
My next field trip is next Wednesday when I take some of my students to Orlando. I need to get a LOT of rest before that trip. They are always so fun, but so tiring. I am looking forward to it.
