10 flurries

Maybe I should watch the news more, but I was surprised by a little snow today. It was literally 10 flurries per sq inch, but it didn’t stop a flood of parents from rushing to the school to pick up their kids. You would have thought a blizzard was on it’s way.

Today was my student teacher’s last day with me. She is well on her way to becoming a great teacher. I will miss her. :(

Jenna had garden club today. They made a necklace and planted grass in it. I told her #1- I would laugh at her when she wore a grass necklace and #2- she would have to mow her own necklace! ha!

Robyn emailed me today and shared a request from her younger cousin. I am pasting in her request. If you or someone you know can help, please do. I forwarded it to Todd so he could send one from Oregon and possibly Washington. God bless the class when they read the 3 facts that he chooses to write about. If they are ANYTHING like what he emailed me today, Kaitlyn may be in trouble. Ha! (let’s just say that Oregon has some DUMB and CRAZY laws on their books)

Todd also is asking his in-laws in Quebec to send one. I know that’s not the 50 states, but the class can enjoy it anyway. Leave me a comment if you are sending one or asking someone to send one.

Thanks! I love a good school project!

Here is the email:

The fourth grade at George Walton Academy will be learning about all fifty states this year. We are working on a project that will increase our knowledge of all the states and we need your help. We are asking that you send us a postcard (your state needs to be featured on the front) and write at least three facts about your state on the back.

Please do not return the postcard to me but to the address listed below. Please put my name on the postcard!!!

Our teachers have to put up a bulletin board with a large map in order to pinpoint where all the cards are coming in from. Thank you so much for your help with this project.

Sincerely,

Kaitlyn Rutledge
