I may post again tonight, but here is a recap of the weekend so far.
We started Saturday morning VERY early- like 12am kinda early. Jade was snotty and decided that staying up from 12am until 2:30am was the best remedy. Jeff and I took turns with this.
Jenna had a soccer game Saturday morning. Jeff was dove hunting and missed the game. I was on the soccer field less than 30 seconds before Jade was stung by a yellow jacket. I noticed her make a horrible face and begin to shake her hand. I was able to swat the bug away. He left a big hole in her hand with a bright red ring of poison to follow. Big girl NEVER CRIED!
Within 30 seconds of the yellow jacket incident, the rain come down: hard and fast! No sprinkle warning- just a downpour! We ended up going to the car and waiting it out. The game was able to start on time and we stayed dry.
Jenna did NOT enjoy the game. She has a cold and on top of the asthma she has been fighting since July, she was NOT well. I had taken her off of the asthma meds because she seemed so much better. Obviously, this was not a good call. We now have the Ziploc bag of meds yet again. I am SICK of her being SICK!
(here she is with a breathing treatment)
Last night Mama kept Jade and Jeff and I had dinner at Julie and Craig's. Jennifer and Bruce (and family) joined us. It was a YUMMY dinner of grilled chicken (shrimp for me), roasted veggies, salad, and cake balls. I made these cake balls and they were yummy. They were VERY rich! I made the red velvet and cream cheese and the strawberry and cream cheese. I made more to take to our Bible Study covered dish on Tuesday.
Jenna called this morning and was ready to come home because she had a headache and was still coughing constantly. She has been in bed watching movies a lot of the day. Nyquil seems to be all that will stop her cough. It’s SO VERY frustrating. I wish that I could afford to send her to the chiropractor 3 times a week. I just don’t have an extra $3000 lying around.
I have spent the afternoon cooking…a lot. For example:
Jell-O
tuna salad
egg salad
this chicken casserole (Mexican)
homemade Ro-tel tomatoes (impressed?)
strawberry cake balls
angle food cupcakes and mini cake for Jeff
packed lunches
and planned and thawed dinner for the week
The kitchen is clean now and I don’t care to enter that room again for a WHILE! A.While.
I still have to finish my laundry and get Jenna and Jade’s clothes laid out for the week. I have to plan the week in detail or we don’t survive.
The Macs are coming over soon. Aunt Bonnie has been sick and in the hospital. The neighbor got run over by her tractor, another neighbor has a new girlfriend after a major heartbreak, was revival week at Philadelphia,BJ had foot surgery, Hope’s dog died and that has been very sad her for and Derrick…If Petrona was alive she would have a LOT to write about this week in The Pea Ridge News. (that made some of you laugh- Admit it…I know it did!)
Bj, Once again the Weems' surgery is featured with the death of a dog- true Petrona style!
Just found Jade here…not good!
