Other than the fact that my girls are a year older, I can’t say that I am sad to see 2010 go. I don’t ever want to rush time, really I don’t, but I am ready for easier days. I know, I know, I don’t even know HARD days. I just know that these days have been harder than I am used to and I ready for easier times. Spoiled? Just a bit.
I went back through my blog for 2010 and I want to do a quick recap. I admit that I may very well leave out some important events, but I had limited time to read 365 days worth of posts. I am SO thankful for my blog. It makes me scrapbook the special times with my family. Sometimes they make me want to pull my hair out, but I do love them SO.
Here goes:
January- Jenna turned 8 and we celebrated at That Pizza Place and took her to Dialogue in the Dark and the Bodies Exhibit. She started playing basketball at the FBC. Jade was still using her paci and had just 4-6 teeth.
February- Jenna ended basketball season winning only 1 game. I treated Jeff and Jenna to a surprise Valentine date at the UGA-SC basketball game. We had a little snow, too. I made a to-do list for the house which we mostly completed. I took Jade’s paci away while Jeff was away for work.
March- We hosted a birthday dinner for Nonni. My hair fell out. I took some students to Orlando for a field trip. Jeff and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary. We have not been on a true date- just the 2 of us- since. I sent Jade to school with NO SHOES- another Jeff work trip.
April- Spring break, Easter egg hunt at church, and a trip to HHI for the girls and me. We helped our friends, the Jones’, move into a new home. Taco Bell opened in Eatonton. Jeff attended the Walk to Emmaus. Jeff coached Jenna’s soccer team and they went undefeated.
May- Jade turned 2 and we celebrated with a party. Elin was born. Jade moved out of her crib (after attempting to climb/flip out). Jenna was in a fashion show for school. Jenna was honored numerous times at her honor’s day for 2nd grade. Jade moved to a bigger class at daycare and gets to play on the big playground.
June- Summer arrived! I finished Jenna’s quilt. We went on a hike at Rock Hawk and got caught in a monsoon. Jade started jumping off the diving board with no swimmies. I went with some students to Kentucky to the Nat’l BETA convention.
July- I continued to spend time home with my girls. The sunflowers bloomed beautifully! Todd, Caro, and Victoria visited for a couple of weeks. Jeff had a week off from work and we did a STAYCATION. Other than missing time at the beach and seeing MeMe and Pappy, the staycation was a great idea. It definitely helped the budget. I made blueberry preserves with blueberries that Jenna and I picked.
August- I turned 35. We took an impromptu weekend away at the farm in Sparta. Jenna was baptized. Jenna started 3rd grade. I started my 14th year of teaching. Jade finally started growing some hair.
September- I made a bunch of aprons, I went to the spa for a day (bday gift), the girls kept me busier than ever.
October- I attended the Walk to Emmaus. We went to Washington Farms as a family and had a great day. We hosted the annual hayride with 88 people. We had lots of fall celebrations. Jenna dressed as a Greek goddess and Jade was Strawberry Shortcake. We also attended the Perry Fair.
November- Caro, Victoria, and the Lavertus spent 2 weeks here for Thanksgiving. We did a family hayride. Both girls attended several bday parties. I did a mother- daughter event with Jenna at Stepback. Jeff turned 31.
December- Jade is mostly potty trained. MeMe and Pappy spent Christmas with us. Jenna was Harkel Harold in the church play. Nonni and Pop spent Christmas in Oregon. We spent New Year’s Eve with the Morris family watching SC v FSU in the Peach Bowl.
When I look back at pictures from this time last year, both girls have grown so much. I shutter to think at how much they will grow this next year. I pray that we are all safe and healthy in 2011. I specifically pray that both of our jobs will be blessed. The budget has been tight this year, but we made it. We are blessed to both still have our jobs, so I try not to complain. I really want some of the stress and pressure in Jeff’s job to ease. He leaves for work at 3am some mornings. I wouldn’t dare even guess the number of miles he has put on his truck for the company this year. The number of nights he traveled this year- a lot! It looks like things are getting better and I am thankful!
I love my family so very much. Even with a hard year we are blessed to have each other. Welcome 2011
Happy New Year!
