It's a ......

If you remember back a few weeks/ months, I announced that I would be having a new niece or nephew. ( I haven't gone back and verified, but I am willing to bet, that I said I thought it was a niece.) Todd and Caroline are expecting a new baby in February. They went for an ultrasound a few weeks back and found out that they were expecting a .....

healthy baby! While we were all excited to hear that news, we wanted to know MORE. We wanted to know if it was a girl or boy, but the baby did not cooperate. (stubborn like it's daddy!) You see, with Victoria, Caroline did not want to know the gender and Todd did. Todd found out, but did not tell anyone. I was one of the FEW who actually guessed Victoria was a girl. They did not even have a girl named picked for her. Good job, Todd!

This time, they agreed to find out, but Baby Mac2 had the last laugh when he/she wouldn't show. I offered to take Caroline to the place where I went to find out the gender of my girls, but Todd did not want her to go without him. (Boo Todd!)

Again, things changed. Caroline and Victoria (and the rest of the family) caught a wicked virus that left them all very sick. Since being in GA, Caroline has been diagnosed with gestational diabetes and has been ultra cautious about her health. So, after being sick for several hours, her doctor suggested she go to the ER (2nd trip to hospital in her 2 week visit) to get fluids. While at the ER (for 6 hours, I might add) the ER doctor ordered an ultrasound. Since they were looking anyway, Todd agreed via phone to let Caroline find out the gender. This time, Baby Mac2 had mercy on his/her parents and showed off.

I am SO PROUD to announce that I am having a .......HEALTHY.......NIECE!

Sophie Doris McMichael

(The reserve the right to change the name, but I don't suggest it.)

Isn't that just the sweetest name! She will be called Sophie. Doris is Mama-Mac's name. She cried when Caroline told her. Awww. I will have to restrain from calling her Sophie D. With Victoria, they used Lavertu as a name before McMichael and I assume they are doing that with Sophie, too. If so, her name is

Sophie Doris Lavertu McMichael.

I ALWAYS root for girls. I might feel different if I had boys, but I just LOVE girls.

At least there was some blessing from this horrible virus.
