The plastic has taken over our home. When Jenna was Jade’s age, I converted what is now Jade’s room into a playroom. There were toys EVERYWHERE! Well, now we don’t have an extra room downstairs. I am not ready to move Jenna upstairs to that bedroom, and Jade is not big enough to use the upstairs big room as a playroom. SO, what to do?!
Well, first, we got a new coffee table. We just took our old one out and moved this one in. Jade and Jenna always ate and colored at the old table anyway. I guess it’s just the stage of our family. I think I will be able to tolerate this. Maybe.
I turned the dining room table to give more room. I think it made Christmas dinner feel less cramped. Yes, the buffet is bare. I took down the Christmas Village and have not redecorated. Can you see the playroom in this angle?
We rarely use our foyer. Jade got so many new toys for Christmas. She is not really old enough to play in her room without supervision and I didn’t want all this in the living room. SO, we used the foyer….Can I really stand this? That basket under the sewing machine- FULL OF BALLS! (dare you to try at take one.) I sure hope this basket ends up paying her way through college- or better yet, pays for her parents’ retirement! (you know, WNBA, LPGA, WMLB- could happen)
She now has a dress up drawer, doll house area, kitchen area, musical area, riding toy storage, Little People drawer, ball basket, random toy box, tent area, and basketball goal. God bless any front door guests.
One of my favorite things Jade would say this Christmas is, “Merry Christmas Tree!” She would say this whenever anyone would wish her a Merry Christmas.
Lest you think this area is all for Jade, trust me, Jenna has played JUST AS MUCH in it. Jenna even said that it was neat that they got so much they could share. Santa put apps on the iPod Touch that Jade can use and Jenna enjoys all of Jade’s toys. Jenna even went upstairs and got down her old doll house so she and Jade would both have one.
I have been to war with plastic and the plastic won!
