A New Bed Fellow

Look who I’m sleeping with tonight…. (I bet some of you thought I had a new dog, but then reality set in and you KNOW I didn’t get a dog and I DANG sure don’t have one sleeping with me…

Yep, that’s  Linus. She kinda looks orangy because we forgot to turn off the overhead light. She is totally complete. She is not perfect, but her theme is, “better DONE than PERFECT”. She is made with love and she is sturdy enough to last a lifetime. (maybe?) Ok, so maybe she is too sturdy with all of the free motion quilting I did on the border….she’ll soften up with some cuddling.

This afternoon BJ (she told me not to call her Miss BJ) and I headed to Watkinsville to a cute quilt shop called Dragonfly. I had heard how nice this place was and I was NOT disappointed. I had in mind that I wanted a deep red for my new quilt. I walked in and look what I saw right away….

Yep, that’s a basket of EVERY thing I needed. It was so easy to pick out what I wanted. It’s like they read my mind and prepared for my arrival. In fact, I’ve decided that is exactly what happened. They PREPARED for ME. Yep, not gonna change my mind…that’s how it happened.

I am very pleased with the fabric that they prepared for me to come and buy.

AMS and Gloria also braved the monsoons of Middle Georgia to trek to Dragonfly. Here they are pictured in the “sale” section. The “sale” section is in the back of the store. APparently, the store did not prepare them a basket of PERFECT fat quarters like they did for me. Maybe next time, ladies.

Miss BJ BJ brought along the quilts that she is currently working on. She is hand quilting one of them and that totally IMPRESSED many of the shop goers of Dragonfly (including me). She also bought some awesome fabric for a jacket to make for her granddaughters.

Other than having to drive an avg of 30 mph due to ridiculous amounts of rain, the trip was great. I enjoyed traveling with BJ and I look forward to sharing our love  (do I REALLY love it?) of quilting.

Tomorrow night is Friday Night Strippers at The STitching Barn. AMS< Gloria, and I are planning to attend. (your minds are wandering now, I bet. )

BTW- signed up for another class in November. Hmmmm

Bragging to follow- Caution: Entered Linus in DIY Day at A Soft Place to Land….got more comments than on any other entry I have submitted- even got one from Kimba, the owner of the site. Woo Hoo-

Can’t tell me nuthin tonight.
