For months I have been planning to attend the Beth Moore Concert in Woodstock. Today was the big day. I left this morning at 6:45ish. It took me about 2 hours and 15 minutes to make it to First Baptist Woodstock. There were 9300 women attending this today. FBW did an EXCELLENT job managing the crowd. Besides the sounds going out for all of 5 seconds, the day was perfect best I could tell.
I was in the overflow room and watched the show on several big screens. During our lunch break Beth and her daughter Melissa came over and did a Q and A with us. Her lesson was great.
Maybe I should have known this, but it was a surprise to me that Travis Cottrell led the worship. He won his second Dove Award this week. Don’t tell anyone, but there was dancing in the Baptist church! ha!
As an added bonus, I was able to meet up with a LOT of my blog friends from all over the SE. There was a lot of talking and greeting. Many of us sat together. It was odd to sit by people that you know, but not really know.
This lady, Natasha, sat beside me. She is a fellow blogger and lives in Suwannee.
I sat with Kelly too. She is from Arkansas. There were SO many people there who wanted to see her. at one point there was a line to see her. It was funny and we were laughing at her. I overheard a lady behind me say, “I don’t know why all these girls have cameras, and I don’t know who THAT (Kelly) girl is either. I guess I should have told them about the world of blogging.
This is Caroline.. She is from Texas and is so sweet. I really love her blog. You should probably memorize her face, because one day she is going to be famous. I don’t exactly know how, but she will be. She is an art teacher and a fabulous artist, but I don’t think art or teaching is what will make her big. I think it’s her heart for God that will make her famous.
It was a GREAT day. It took me almost 3 hours to get home. (Can you say BACKACHE!?) I am happy that I had this opportunity. I doubt I will ever get to see my blog friends all at once again. I would go see Beth again and I definitely recommend her books and Bible Studies. I did confirm (as if I needed any confirmation) I am NOT a Baptist. (BUT I LOVE Baptist people!)
Todd spent the better part of the morning texting me reminding me of funny things from our childhood. I was laughing so hard during the least appropriate times. He reminded me of the time we were having the house painted (mint green, no less) and while the painter was up high on the ladder, Todd sprayed him with the water hose. Poor guy had no where to go! Once Todd reminded me, I remembered the painter knocking on the door telling Mama what her terrible child had done to him. Ha! Later that same day, Todd painted the cat mint green. He was in BIG trouble. I mean, can you imagine having work done on your house and the service guy climbing a ladder and then your child attacks him with a water hose?! It’s a wonder Todd survived that!
And a BIG 85th birthday to Daddy-Mac!

It was so great to meet you Jan! God really did answer my prayer because even though I knew I was going to see a lot of familiar faces, I had no idea who I was going to sit with. I asked Him to orchestrate the whole thing for me and He did!!! The conference was awesome and one of these days I am going to blog about it!
