Jade enjoyed playing with other friends, jumping in the bounce house, and especially watching Peyton open presents. This weekend was full of parties. Jenna had a bday party the night before at the bowling alley; I had a baby shower for some former students; and Jade had Peyton’s party. Lots of good fun!

Happy 3rd Birthday Peyton
Jade’s friend Peyton turned 3 recently, and his birthday party was on the 7th. The weather was beautiful, and the kids played outside and had a ball.

Duct Tape Creations
Jenna got 31 rolls of Duct Tape for Christmas and many wondered, “What in the world does she want with that!” Well, here is what she does with it. (ignore the wet head- duct tape artists have to take showers, too)
The first is a wallet with a flower decoration made of duct tape.

It has pockets everywhere..

and this little booger likes duct tape too.

She made a little book jacket…

A bag for her new tablet with exterior pockets for her cell phone and iPod touch.

\
a purse

and Kelsi made this larger purse.

The photos do not include the bracelets, other style wallets, signs, and even a Gamecock BOWTIE for Daddy.
Now, if only I had thought of this invention. Sigh!

Last Night in Georgia
The night of January 2nd was my last night of vacation, and it was Todd and Caro’s last night in Georgia. We had a quick dinner of soup and cornbread, and had one last playdate. The pictures aren’t very posed- sorry.

It was a nice visit. I am always sad to see them go. I wish they loved closer, and that we could afford to travel to see them in Oregon. Maybe one day-one day soon.

Love-Hate
It’s a love-hate relationship. Spend five minutes with them, and you will fully understand!

but, they are beautiful!

Wrapping it up
We wrapped up 2011 by spending NYE at Julie’s house. We celebrated with Dawn, Cass, Julie, and all of our kids. All of us made it to midnight. Jade fell asleep on the way home with her glittery make up still on.

We wrapped up our holiday by watching the first half of the bowl games at The Brick. Brooklyn was with us. Somehow UGA and SC ended up playing in games that were played at the same time. We could only stay for the first half since Jade needed a nap. The end of Christmas break is always one of the saddest days of the year.

It has been a great break full of family, fun, and celebrating. I am thankful to be able to return to a job when so many wish that they only had a job. I am sure that once my students return, I will be happy to see them.

Cousin Play date
Update: Obviously, I wrote this post about a week ago or more. I am way ahead on blogging, so my posts are behind. You win some, you lose some.
This morning Uncle Todd, Aunt Caro, Victoria, and Sophie came to play.

These last pictures are of all four girls playing at the table that was once Nonni and Aunt Carol’s.
For the record, most of these pics were taken in the playroom where the toys are. The whole house does not look this messy.
