Recently, I got an email from Jenna’s teacher that Jenna had joined the archery club at her school. They had a practice after school and several early morning practices. This weekend, the club sponsored an archery tournament for all students.
Jenna has really enjoyed archery, and is surprisingly good at it.
The tournament lasted foever! two hours and moved very slowly and precisely. Truthfully, it was VERY organized and extremely safe for the students and spectators.
After the first round, Jenna had the 2nd highest score for 3rd grade, but two kids were tied for first. That had Jenna seated for a third place.
The second round was shot from further back at 40feet. They turned the scores around so that the winners would be a surprise. Jenna shot well again. She hit all 15 arrows on the target and had at least 1 more bull’s eye. We thought she had 3rd place in the bag.
When awards were called, she did not place. The kid who won first must have NAILED the 2nd round because he was no where in the running after the 1st round.
Oh well. Jenna had a great time and I was very proud of her!!
