What I thought was just a fever from teething has turning into far worse! Normally, if the girls are sick, I let them stay with the Macs so that I don’t have to miss work. Certainly, I have had to miss a few days over the years, but normally they go to Macs.
I told Jeff last night before the fever even spiked that I just had a strong feeling that I needed to stay home. This is a rare feeling for me. I normally worry about sub plans, my students missing out on teaching, missing meetings, etc. Last night I had a peace about missing work and so I called in and emailed my plans. GOOD CALL!
Jade ended up with a 104 fever! YIKES. She slept well, but we set timers every two hours to take her temp and pump her with meds. We let the fever ride until it topped 102.
I called the doctor this morning and they were able to see her after lunch. We did not have to wait at all! YES! I really suspected it was viral, but that they would send us home with Amoxil anyway.
Jade hates the doctor! She held it together better this time, but she was still NOT happy.
The swabbed her throat and said it was a nasty case of Strep throat. YUCK! We now have Amoxil, fluids, and another day at home. I will stay home again tomorrow. After that, she will have 24 hours of antibiotics and can either return to daycare or go to the Macs. We will make that decision tomorrow.
I may have to miss Bible Study tomorrow. I NEVER miss (not even once) unless I am out of town. Jeff has a job at AC and UJ’s tomorrow night, so I might have to stay home with Jade. I will just have to see how tomorrow goes.
Check out Jade’s moccasins. Julie got them for her last year while she was in the mountains. We like them!
On my day at home I was able to mop, clean bathrooms, vacuum, make dinner, bake muffins, make spaghetti sauce for another night, complete laundry, and get lots of rest. At least something good came of the day.
Praying Jade is better soon.
