First: On Veteran’s Day, I always assign my students to call and thank a veteran. I think veterans go way under thanked, and I have a mission to change that. Anyway, I had given about a 10 minute lesson preparing them for their task of calling a veteran. They were all on the edge of their seats thinking about who they would call, etc. This little girl in the back of the room raises her hand, and I call on her.
Girl: So, I go home and get the number to my veterinarian…
Me: Hangs head and begins to shake it…
Boy (from across room): No, FOOL, that’s someone who doesn’t eat meat.
Me: died
Second: I took my friend, Curry’s senior pics last week. This week she had her wisdom teeth removed Apparently, while she was still on the meds, she had a text conversation with a friend about her senior pics. She posted the screen shot to FB.
I prefer that Kane be pronounced Khan ye. It’s my gansta name.
I texted this to Todd, and he replied, “I laughed.” Someone please tell the boy that it’s, “LOL.”
