Gingerbread House 2011

One tradition  that has been in our family as long as Jeff has, is the annual Gingerbread house. I can’t say that I had ever made one, but since our Jeff came along, we do it every year. (we will buy our 2012 house next week when they are 1/2 price Smile)
Normally, you have to build the house the night before, and let it dry. A nice surprise was this house was already put together.

Notice the peppermint tray that the house is on. Caro and I made that! We took peppermints, spaced them out on a cookie sheet/wax paper. We baked at 350 for 15ish minutes. You can make them in any shape/pattern. Neat, huh?

Icing was everywhere, but memories were made. Mission accomplished.
