Some Words (for a change)

So, most of you noticed, I am off my normal schedule. Most of you also know WHY I am off my normal schedule. This little thing called WORK has interrupted my casual summer way of life.

I started back to school on Monday, and while I am sad to not have so much time at home with the girls, I am THANKFUL to have a career that I do love.

Ok, since this is my journal, I need to catch up a bit. Last Saturday, Jeff and I woke up with ZERO plans. As we glanced back at the summer, this was the first Saturday with no plans. It felt weird. Nonni then called and asked to get the girls. When they left, Jeff decided that it was time to get new tires on my car. (long story, but also long overdue) We headed out to Pep Boys for a tire change and oil change. Yes, you read correctly, we were OUT OF TOWN with no kids. Amazing! After the trip to Pep Boys we drove my newly outfitted BMW  Expedition to lunch. Of course, if you know Jeff, you know we went to Wild Wing CafĂ©. I warned my dear hubs that it was a state payday AND back to school weekend, so he needed to prepare. He didn’t listen and was surprised at the crowds.  We walked into WWC, and the wait was long. I noticed a couple of seats at the bar, and remembered, NO KIDS- Yes, please! How nice. It has been possibly years since we were free enough to be able to eat a meal at the bar. We had a delicious lunch and headed home. we picked up the girls just after nap time. What a nice day. (Amazing how good new tires and an oil change can make you feel.) Oh, and while at Pep Boys, I pointed out to Jeff that we were wearing matching flip flops. (identical!) I loved it, he was mortified! Hee Hee!

Sunday we went to church and then, you will not believe what I did during nap time! I CLEANED OUT MY CAR! (Yes, Anthony, the stuff that was spilled between the seats is clean now. ) I have no idea how long it has been since I cleaned my car out. I am vowing to do better. (I am actually not the problem. ahem—no names, but JENNA!) After that, Jeff and I took Jenna to JYF, and we did some grocery shopping.

Then Monday came. Ugh! Monday. We have a new principal that I am very excited about. I liked our last principal, but change is good. I also met my new student teacher, Jenna Marae. (She goes by both names.) I am thinking this is going to pan out to be a good relationship. I basically never got motivated to work on Monday, but on Tuesday, I was in gear, and ready to roll. Basically, the rest of the week has been busy busy.

Tuesday brought out county wide convocation. We had an EXCELLENT motivational speaker. Tuesday night we had a fun church wide dinner. Jeff had been out of town, and when he returned, he had us a gift. He had bought us a new Keurig coffee maker. We have researched them for a long time, but never had the $ to spend. This time, he had to return a tool to Lowes that had torn up, and he traded it for a coffee pot. So far, I really like it.

Tonight is open house for both Jenna’s and my school. Stay tuned for a post about the first day of school. I have already started working on it.

Also, you will notice that I have updated my bloglist on the left. Many of these are friends that I have met in real life, many are my Twitter friends, some are just blogs that I enjoy, and one is my Tori’s. She is a talented writer and teacher who is blogging about her first year teaching. Check her blog out. It’s titled “Reciprocity”, but I called her “My Tori” on my bloglist. Smile

Hopefully, I will get my groove soon and be able to post pics and words in one post. Stay tuned.
