iPad Sleeve

Mama got a new iPad 2 a few weeks ago, and she asked me to make her a quilted sleeve. I found a pattern online here.

It took about 2ish hours, and turned out quite ok.

I followed the instructions pretty much to the letter. I used a heavy batting for the padding, and by the time I stuffed both the lining and the shell, I was afraid the case would be too small. It actually fit just fine. Another thing I had to tweak was the Velcro placement. I found that the placement in the tutorial had the closure too high on the flap. (This could totally be my fault.) I had to go back and add a lower piece of Velcro. The biggest downside to this is that you can see the outline on the flap. Oh well. I almost monogrammed the flap, but I didn’t want to over-invest in something I wasn’t sure would even work. Now I wish I had monogrammed it.

Here is what Jade did while I sewed:

This morning we went to Madison to pick up my ring from the jeweler, and we saw the site of the new Extreme Home Makeover home. We even saw the “Move That Bus” bus. I wish we could volunteer, but it’s just so hard to get daycare, especially when so many of the shifts are in the middle of the night.

Love the iPad sleeve. Thank you sweet Jan! We had fun doing the pix. I can keep girls for you to volunteer any day but Saturday. I need to see Jenna either way. And jade is really no trouble at all.
