Early in 4th grade Jenna came home with an assignment to choose one of the famous Americans that 4th graders have to learn about, write a speech/biography, find a costume, and be ready to be a part of a living museum by the end of the year. Jenna chose Calamity Jane.
As you can see from this picture, they had a LOT of famous Americans to learn about.
The rules were:
1) Know your speech.
2) Have only 3 props. She chose her horse (Thank you God for giving me the wisdom to save that thing in the attic!). The lasso that one of my friends just happened to have posted in her FB pic the week I went looking for one. The tombstone which I had to make using Picmonkey and a poster maker. (I impressed myself!)
Her teacher loaned her the hat and the vest was a Goodwill fund.
Ponce de Leon here was wearing a costume custom made by his mom out of plaster of Paris.
It was a WONDERFUL exhibit. I was so proud of Jenna’s classmates and teachers.
