The post is a bit late, but Jenna turned the big ten, recently. For her birthday, she wanted her room redecorated. She chose some really bold colors, and we did exactly what she asked. Prepare yourself.
Never did I think that I would ever buy these paint colors by the gallon. Oh the things we do for the love of our children.
Five years ago when I painted her bed pink and purple, I swore that the next time I painted this thing, I would be painting it WHITE. Oh, be careful what you say!
She requested her bed be electric green, her dresser be purple, and talked her into gray walls. MeMe and Pappy had given her the zebra bedding and curtains for Christmas.
The weekend before her birthday Jeff worked really hard, and I helped get her room ready. I reflected back ten years prior when I stood in her doorway and stared at a freshly painted crib with a my big belly, teary eyed, wondering what this child would be like. I had NO CLUE that ten years later I would stand in the same doorway teary eyed from the BRIGHTNESS of the paint color of her bed. There is NO parenting book written to prepare you for the weekend that you do this to your kids room.
The dresser was mine from when I was a child. Jeff did a great job painting it. We bought her new pulls for it, and it looks so good!
I will post more pictures in a later post. Trust me, it looks really cool! My girl might have a future in wild design.
