You are guaranteed a good football game on the 2nd Saturday in September every year. UGA and Carolina ALWAYS play a hard game against each other. No matter the score, if you go and look at the stats, it’s ALWAYS a nail biter, close game.
This year was no different. Thanks to AC and UJ, we headed to Athens on Friday afternoon, and we enjoyed the visit until Sunday. We stayed in AC and UJ’s motorhome at Bulldog Park. Anthony and Ashley were also there with us. So much fun!
I did not take my good camera, but I took a few on my phone.
(The pics are all out of order…My computer is acting cray-cray!)
Since it was September 11, BOTH bands took the field together, and did a very nice tribute. I was very impressed.
We had such a great time at the park. It is such a good group of people, and LOTS of food and fun.
Some of the girls went to downtown Athens to eat on Friday while I was eating lunchroom food. Shame on them! Ha!
Jeff and Anthony got in a little football time.
As it turned out, this was about as good as Georgia could do with chicken for the day. The gamecocks won, but it was a GOOD game!
Speaking of cooking chicken. These folks know how to cook! Friday night they cooked Filets and King crab legs. The crab was already split open so that all you had to do was eat- no work! I don’t know how may filets they cooked, but I bet it was 50 or more!
Saturday, they cooked 26 fried chicken halves, and 56 grilled chicken halves! I didn’t eat the chicken, but I did eat the fixens, and they were good!
The folks at the Snake Pit sure know how to cook. AC participated in some of the other infamous Snake Pit activities (4 times over!) I stayed away from that part.
We had a wonderful time, and we are so thankful to AC and UJ for sharing this weekend with us. I am sad to say that UGA lost, but my girls and Jeff are happy for another year- so all is well. I do love some good ol SEC football.
We are ready to go again!
